AI Share of Voice
The percentage of AI-generated responses in a category or topic area where a specific brand is mentioned relative to competitors.
AI Share of Voice (AI SOV) measures how much of the AI-generated conversation within a specific market, category, or topic is captured by a particular brand compared to its competitors. It is calculated by dividing a brand's AI mentions by the total mentions across all competing brands for a given set of prompts or queries.
For example, if a user asks an AI assistant about the best project management tools and your brand is mentioned in 30 out of 100 relevant queries while your top competitor appears in 45, your AI SOV is 30% versus their 45%.
